Yesterday I decided to not read the news at all. My stress level went down - as a matter of fact, we took a drive and went by the Target that Kenny worked at, and they had a "now hiring" sign up. And that made we wonder - when would we have him work there again? Would there be a huge risk if he worked there now, and are they offering any kind of protection (masks, etc) to workers?
All of these things would have been unthinkable on a day where I was continually watching the news.
Just got an email from the Bellevue School District, saying school is officially closed for the school year. Maybe Kenny going to work at Target isn't the worse idea. At least he would be interacting with people (or maybe that's NOT so great).
So now the government is reversing course - kind of - on the whole mask thing. What a screw up it's been. Still they're very tentative about it, along the lines of "you may, if you want to, wear a mask". It would be interesting to listen to the surgeon general - who was the one to originally tweet, "Seriously people- STOP BUYING MASKS". Wonder what he's saying now, since it's pretty well proven that there's airborne transmission.
My daily checklist during the coronavirus |
Peter, Kenny and I took a bike ride along the Green River trail, one of my favorites. Eric's leg was still bothering him, so he just dropped us off and picked us up.
It was a great ride. Peter, now that he has a decent bike, is pretty fast and keeps up easily. The weather was sunny. Many parts of the trail reminded Peter and me of our bike trip to Austria, especially the stretch where there's lots of warehouses.

Wonder what those stumps in the river are - an old wharf? |
Looks like there's a business here that makes yurts and teepees? |
